AF Associates To Showcase Projects, New Products at NAB2000
Top on the list is AFA's work with Microcast, an IP-based video streaming platform that enables content partners to deliver revenue-supported live and archived programming from their own Web sites. Microcast is touted as the highest capacity turnkey provider of Internet video streaming services to the US media industry.
AFA will also discuss details of several of its other recent projects, including its systems integration work with NBC O&O WTVJ in Miami – slated to be one of the largest broadcast stations in the US.
AFA will also demonstrate the following products:
- MULTICHANNEL DTMF LOGGER (MDM-1A) – The MDM-1A enables monitoring and logging of the DTMF tones and contact closures employed in multiple channel automation systems.
- 2X2 VIDEO/AUDIO CHANGEOVER SWITCH (COS-1A) – The COS-1A features dual redundant power supplies using a front panel bicolor LED output voltage monitoring.
- REMOTE GPI PANEL WITH COMMUNICATIONS OPTION (RGP-2A) – AFA has developed a "Remote GPI Panel" that provides a control interface for up to eight pieces of equipment and offers a communications option.
- DO-ABLE – A pre-packaged "PROJECTWEB" and "e-time" software Internet application specifically designed for project based work. Major elements include an Intranet for internal teams; an Extranet for communication with clients, vendors and partners; an electronic time sheet; and time management and budget tracking applications.
AFA will also exhibit its ReVISION line of products for color correction, automatic travelling matte generation for computer graphics/special effects, and digital asset management:
- TRAXIM – Available in high or standard definition, TRAXIM is the first new "operator UN intensive" tool for isolating objects from their background since the chroma key.
- The ColorDrome workstation, also available in high or standard definition, provides "endless" TRAXIM windows and features a comprehensive effects (blur, sharpen, etc.) package for object by object "look correction".
- VideoBank , a suite of digital asset database and management tools for storage, retrieval, transmission and presentation of video clips, spots and programs.
- Modules being launched at the show include: VideoDeposit – for input and encoding of material, VideoTools – includes MPEG editing, storyboard creation and segment/image compositing, VideoWithdrawal – for playlist generation and playout, VideoExpress – for point to point transmission of clips and programs, VideoTouch – Touch-based control of programs for presentation or distance learning applications, WebExpress - for browsing and searching via the web.
