AFA Products Group to exhibit TRAXIM Product Range and Eclipse at IBC

AFA Products Group, Inc. (Stand # 7.321) has announced plans to exhibit an innovative product line at IBC 2000 that promises to both redefine the art of color correction and dramatically reduce the labor involved in creating some Effects mattes. AFA Products Group will show TRAXIM - the first new "operator UN-intensive" tool for isolating objects from their background since the chroma key. Also on exhibit will be COLORDROME - a breakthrough workstation built around TRAXIM, and Eclipse - a very reasonably priced color correction system for HD telecine, tape and data imaging.

TRAXIM's amazing results are achieved via automatic, machine vision object-based color correction windows and mattes. With a quick and easy highlight stroke, the operator shows TRAXIM which objects are of interest. TRAXIM then defines the edge of the objects or elements with edge-seeking algorithms. Frame by frame, TRAXIM automatically follows the object or element as it moves in the scene using advanced image processing techniques.

Staying "operator UN-intensive", TRAXIM's integral DDR chases a telecine or VTR providing real time object-based auto-tracked windows for use in color correction.

TRAXIM's object finding and tracking capabilities are made available to the Effects industry through a Discreet Logic sparks* plug-in, "TRAXIM", or a Windows NT or Linux standalone application - "TRAXIM, Unplugged."

AFA Products Group will also exhibit COLORDROME, a breakthrough workstation that transcends color correction. COLORDROME, built around TRAXIM, is available in high or standard definition. The innovative workstation provides "endless" TRAXIM windows and features a comprehensive effects (blur, sharpen, etc.) package for object by object "look correction".

In addition, AFA Products Group will exhibit ECLIPSE, a new model in the ColorVision cost effective product range. Eclipse, reasonably priced for HD Telecine systems, is a full featured color corrector for telecine, tape, and data imaging. Eclipse is operated by a innovative SuperSoft control center and utilizes a new image system with advanced pixel processing and multiple full featured windowing effects.
