Discreet Ships Jobnet 2.5 With Workgroup Editing And Remote
As part of its heatwave ™ workflow initiative, Discreet began shipping jobnet ™ 2.5 on April 19th, delivering expanded workgroup-editing services based on optimized Windows ® NT Storage Area Network (SAN) configurations. The jobnet and jobnet Producer ™ solutions are being demonstrated in conjunction with Discreet'sedit non-linear editing system at the NAB' 2001 trade show in Las Vegas (Sands Convention Center booth S-4100).
Based on a Fibre Channel infrastructure, jobnet scales to support multiple real-time dual-stream edit workstations and storage for over 108 hours of uncompressed broadcast quality video. With shared access to central storage, post-production and broadcast facilities optimize disk usage while offering non-linear editors a real-time environment for editing long-form programming, television station IDs or creative promotional content. jobnet also provides unique project and data security with RAID and dual-network configurations.
Work group services for editors, producers and motion graphics artists
jobnet 2.5 extends beyond Discreet edit systems, allowing producers or editors to
storyboard ideas, save comments and playback entire programs for content review. The
jobnet producer collaboration software installs on laptop or desktop computers, offering
access to video and audio clips on a jobnet workgroup SAN or stand-alone edit system through a switched local area or wide area network connection. The flexible solution also
