Turkey's biggest film and pay per view (PPV) broadcaster, DigiTurk, has joined the growing list of broadcasters adopting vi[z] modeling, authoring and animation solution, and the vi[z] content pilot resource and delivery manager, for its promo department. Since installation of the system by Arttek, vizrt's dealer, DigiTurk has gained a significant competitive advantage and a substantial reduction in operating costs.

Broadcasting over 60 channels by DVB via satellite in a variety of languages required an advanced solution to provide film and programme promos to the right channels in the right language at the right time.

Omer Benderli, Technical Manager, DigiTurk, said, "The problem we were faced with was to produce many versions of the same promo as the same film is broadcast on different channels at different times. With the vizrt (vizrt) system we are now able to produce different versions of the same promo for different channels and airing at different times."

"With the vizrt we have already been able to significantly reduce the time promos have been taking to create, as well as reducing the cost of producing different versions," added Benderli.

DigiTurk's selection of the vizrt solution marks the latest in a series of high-profile networks turning to the newly formed vizrt for their graphics production requirements. Recent sales include NBC for its Summer Olympics Games coverage, the UK's Sky Sports for all of the network's live sports programming, including Premier League football, The Germany's DSF for their live coverage of the Bundesliga (Germany's national football league) and CBS Sports' third season of use on NFL Football game and pre-game coverage. vizrt solutions are clearly gaining popularity among the worlds' major broadcasters and fundamentally changing the way information is communicated.

Petter Ole Jakobsen, Executive Creative Developer of vi[z]rt, said, "vizrt has provided a neat and cost-effective solution for DigiTurk. Our system uses video servers connected to editing suites for the creation of the promos. Once the basic editing has been completed the system identifies which channels this film will be broadcast on, and when, and according to pre-determined templates, different versions of the promo are automatically produced. The system will also put different overlay graphics, channel ID's, on-air times etc, according to the PPV channel and the time the film will be broadcast. The system can also add different audio tracks automatically."
