Pinnacle Systems (Mountain View, CA) says it plans to offer a USB Personal Video Recorder (PVR), giving PC/TV users the ability to pause live TV, create instant replays and schedule recording events.

The product, codenamed Bungee, is an external device with USB and video ports that connects to any desktop or notebook PC. Bungee, targeted for a spring 2001 shipping date, has TV output capability that allows users to timeshift programs on their PC and watch them on their TV set. Bungee will come equipped with a remote control and will be bundled with Pinnacle's Vision application, an advanced TV viewing software.

Pinnacle says Bungee is one of the first products to support simultaneous video recording and playback over USB ports.
