Fox to launch Wink's interactive platform

Source: Wink Communications
The Fox network will soon add Wink Communications-enhanced interactive programming to its primetime line-up.

The deal, originally announced in 1999, adds Fox to Alameda, CA-based Wink's list of broadcast network partners that also includes ABC, CBS and NBC. Wink has also inked partnerships with major cable operators as well as satellite broadcasters DirecTV and EchoStar.

The service will allow FOX viewers with Wink-enhanced set-tops to access additional program-specific content, as well as news, sports and other applications, via their remote control. Fox and Wink are also providing Fox marketing partners and their potential consumers with interactive advertising capabilities, information-on-demand, discounts-on-demand and other one-touch applications.
