Moroccan broadcaster purchases Grass Valley transmission system
2M TV's technical solution will be based around the Profile XP Media Platform. The broadcaster will use the platform to play out most of the material on its new channel, which is scheduled to go to air this month. In addition, the new transmission center will feature a Grass Valley SMS7000 router, several Grass Valley modular systems as well as a broad range of solutions from other systems vendors and suppliers.
Today's order is the second in less than three months for 2M TV. In December, the broadcaster announced an order for a Kalypso Video Production Center system. The Kalypso system will be used as the hub of 2M TV's main television newsroom, handling live production for up to ten regular daily news bulletins.
"For this latest project, we needed a proven solution," said 2M TV's chief engineer, Driss Anouar. "We decided to opt for the Profile XP Media Platform because it is a tried and tested system, which should meet our precise needs."
"We have a long history of using Grass Valley broadcast equipment, stretching back some 12 years now, " added Anouar, "and have always found it to be reliable and of high quality. We are confident the Profile XP Media Platform will prove no exception."
"We are pleased by the continued adoption of the Profile XP Media Platform worldwide and proud of the role it will play at 2M TV's new facility," said Tim Thorsteinson, president of the Grass Valley Group.
