OPPO Digital DVD Player Allows DivX Video Play Back On HDTVs

Mountain View, CA – DivX, Inc., a digital entertainment company, has certified OPPO Digital's DV-970HD Universal DVD Player with HDMI. The DV-970HD can playback various media and video file types, including the popular DivX media format. Additionally, the DV-970HD can up-convert videos to high definition resolutions from standard definition for HD compatibility.

With over 180 million software products downloaded worldwide, the DivX compression format requires only a fraction of the data required by a standard-length DVD while retaining quality and the ability to playback Dolby encoded audio. DivX is also suitable for secure playback on PCs.

"This innovative OPPO Digital DVD player combined with DivX technology enables millions of HDTV owners to watch content from a wide variety of sources at a high level of visual quality," said Kevin Hell, CXO, Partners and Licensing at DivX, Inc. "We are excited to partner with OPPO Digital as one of the manufacturers to bring this solution to home theaters around the world."
