<%=company1%> furnished turnkey systems integration services for Bay News 9 - Tampa Bay, Florida's only 24-hour news channel, by employing state-of-the-art automation and file server technology. The facility, a Time Warner Communications Exclusive, supports the acquisition and delivery of local news to subscribers in the Tampa Bay area.

Bay News 9, designed to utilize automation to the maximum extent to facilitate operational flexibility and expansion, is based around serial component digital video and analog audio. It is comprised of a Master Control Room, a Network Operations/Signal Acquisition area, Studio Production Control Rooms, Multi-functional Newsroom, a Non-linear Edit Suite, Off-line Edit Suites and a Graphics Room.

The Master Control Room contains a Tektronix digital file server in addition to Panasonic DVCPRO videotape machines. Operators monitor incoming and outgoing feeds from a monitor wall in the Network Operations Center, which currently accommodates microwave/satellite/fiber feeds.

Editing suites create news segments using traditional machine-to machine editing on Panasonic digital DVC Pro VTRs. The completed story is played back to air from a Profile video server.

AFA has been building facilities for Time Warner since 1984.
