Inscriber Technology TitleMotion Bundled with Sony® XPRI™

April 23, 2001

Inscriber Technology Corporation today announced that Sony Corporation's Communication System Solutions Network Company will bundle Inscriber TitleMotion™ with XPRI™, Sony's new digital content creation system. Sony's XPRI system targets the needs of a changing broadcast and production industry by providing clear and simple DTV migration solutions that spans from SD to HD including 24p operations. Sony will demonstrate XPRI at NAB 2001 in LVCC South Convention Center booth #L11600.

Inscriber TitleMotion is a professional graphics tool for creating stunning video titles and motion effects quickly and easily. Because TitleMotion will be integrated with XPRI, it is accessible from the XPRI workspace. This gives editors full access to all of TitleMotion's powerful features such as lower-thirds, rolls, crawls, anti-aliased text, soft-edge shadows, drawing tools, background import and productivity tools such as drag-and-drop style chips and the powerful template feature.

TitleMotion for XPRI also includes a keyframe-based animation component that is used to add motion to titles. Video producers can take any title and create multi-layered animations to fly text, graphics, logos, and draw objects around the screen following customized motion paths. TitleMotion also includes the unique feature that allows editors to animate each character of a title independently. Every moving object including characters, can be flipped, twisted, skewed or rotated and filters such as transparency can be applied to the animation over time.

The XPRI SD and XPRI HD systems share the same software and hardware platform/interface, coupling the common operations that have become the standard in nonlinear editing with advanced Sony enhancements. With an intuitive user interface, newly designed linear style USB control devices and high quality effects, the XPRI redefines nonlinear editing for a new age of quality in production and broadcasting.

"With the addition of TitleMotion, Sony's XPRI offers the broadcast and production industry a more powerful solution in the trend to migrate from SD to HD mastering, where editors can gain even greater flexibility with additional tools for creative expression," stated Joel St. Denis, Product Manager, Desktop Products at Inscriber Technology Corporation.
