The PICTOR HDTV Encoder is designed to meet the requirements for ATSC and DVB compliant encoding of High-Definition programs.
BarcoNetHDTV Encoder is designed to meet the requirements for ATSC and DVB compliant encoding of High-Definition programs. The 2U PICTOR is modular in design to encode one program comprising a SMPTE 292M High-Definition video signal with up to 6 audio channels and either ATSC closed captioning or DVB subtitling data.
The encoded HDTV program is output as a broadcast-ready ATSC/DVB-compliant transport stream. A range of transport stream formats is supported. It separates the 1080i or 720p input signal format into sub-frames which are processed by a MPEG2 MP@HL multiprocessor. This product supports internal encoding of up to 6 audio channels being interfaced as digital AES/EBU and analog signals. For ATSC broadcasting, PICTOR offers a SMPTE 276M audio interface connecting to Dolby AC-3 encoders supporting both stereo and 5.1 surround sound broadcast applications.
