The CATS series is a dual function F.O. cable attenuation test set. Quick interconnection is provided via the use of the many available adapters. The multi-source models are equipped with DAFOCOM's unique Single-BeamTM design, which improves Accuracy, Performance and Productivity by a factor of Two. The unique detection circuit provides repeatable Ultra Quick accurate measurements. The unit features the industry standard, 2 kHz's identification tone. Field technicians, who are installing and maintaining fibre optic cable plant for FDDI, LAN, CATV or other applications will find the CATS, the ideal instrument. The "OR - OPTICAL RECORDER " is a unique feature for an instrument in this price range. The "OR" function with the "OR Adapter" provides technicians the ability to perform long term monitoring on a fibre optic link. Detection of intermittent problems is performed with minimal degradation to the overall performance of the system under test . The OPTICAL RETURN LOSS option provides a complete set of functions into a single unit. Now measurements for optical power and optical return loss can be achieved via a few key strokes.
