Digital Video Fiber Optic Link
The link offers direct SMPTE 292M compatible interfaces. The Model 2653 can transmit NRZ, asynchronous data at rates from 20 Mb/s up to 1.5 Gb/s. While the Model 2653 has been specifically designed to meet SMPTE 292M standard, it also supports the data rates generated by other digital video standards such as SMPTE 259M, CCIR 656, EU95 and ITU-RBT.601.
The Model 2653 is available in two packaging configurations. The 2653T/2653R transmitter/receiver pair integrates high-speed electronics and optics into a compact, ruggedized package. The Model 2653X transceiver incorporates the optics and electronics of the Tx/Rx pair into a single rack-mount unit intended for use in the Force, Inc. Model 2781 6RU 19" EIA Deluxe Powered Rack Chassis (TB144). See TB095 for a more detailed description of the transceiver configuration.
Both packages accommodate either a 1310 nm or 1550 nm laser and an InGaAs PIN detector for single-mode and multimode fiber compatibility (the 2653 transmits up to 1 km using multimode 50/125 µm fiber). The laser output power is internally stabilized by means of an integral rear facet photodiode and an optical isolator for use with fiber plants of high or unknown levels of backreflection.
