Microwave Transport System

The TwinStream digital and dual-carrier microwave transport system supports the television industry's requirements to share analog and digital video program transports within the same 25 MHz RF channel plan.

TwinStream eliminates the need to digitally encode the NTSC signal and offers a fully designed, integrated, dual carrier radio within the same three rack unit transmitter or receiver (protected configurations require an additional transmitter and receiver shelf, plus switching shelf). With MRC's patent pending "Gemini IF" approach, the analog and digital modulator cards are included within the radio shelf.

For many studio-to-transmitter link applications, the ability to maintain the NTSC programming feed in its native analog format to the over-the-air transmitter offers more than a cost savings. It also eliminates potential concerns about the impacts from latency in the NTSC feed.
