Inscriber Technology Corporation, Inc.n both software (E-Clips) and complete turnkey system (LIVE!Clips) form, E-Clips is targeted for Music, News, Sports, Weather, NLE-users and other on-air 24 hour broadcast sequenced clip playback applications.

E-Clips allows one system to schedule and control the playback and capture of Matrox AVI and MPEG-2 files, VTR output, switchers, live video feeds, externally created 3D animations and full screen graphics. E-Clips assists facilities in making the transition to digital television by providing an interface and sequencing engine that can control the analogue and digital output of a variety of formats and coding schemes.

Files from any NLE system that produces Matrox AVI or MPEG-2 files can easily be loaded or captured. Now NLE users can read and play their Matrox AVI or MPEG-2 files over their network using E-Clips without having to go through time-consuming file conversion.

E-Clips is designed to provide the functionality broadcasters demand for automated playback units through a user-friendly Windows interface. It permits the editing of multiple playlists of clip and live events even as they play. Capture and playback sources can be managed from a single E-Clips system configured with appropriate video hardware. Playback can be scheduled with timecode, a time of day clock or GPI trigger. E-Clips has the ability to overlay logos and the time of day, greatly enhancing playback output. Automatic logs are generated for all playback events to ensure detailed records of playback, and to simplify customer billing.

E-Clips provides M-JPEG or MPEG-2 video with up to four video channels per system. Standard video interfaces are NTSC (or PAL) Y, R-Y, B-Y and YC. SMPTE 259M serial digital video inputs and outputs are also supported. E-Clips audio feature provides 2 channels in and 2 channels out, either analog or AES/EBU, for each video channel.
