RMI Alchemy Au1200 Processor Chosen For XENT X3 Multifunction Portable Media Player From HyOn

Cupertino, CA - Raza Microelectronics, Inc. (RMI), a leading supplier of processors for communications and consumer applications, announced recently that HyOn Corporation, a world leader in the design and the manufacture of high quality telecommunication equipment and consumer electronics, has selected the RMI Alchemy Au1200 Processor for its XENT X3 multi-function Portable Media Player.

The HyOn XENT X3 is based on the Windows CE 5.0 operating system and has a 7.0" LCD display with 800x480 resolution. The XENT X3 multimedia player supports all standard video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, XviD and WMV9), and includes a T-DMB receiver as well as GPS Navigation.

The RMI Alchemy Au1200, the processor of choice for full-featured Multifunction Portable Media Players (mPMP), navigation and mobile TV devices, is a high-performance, low-power processor capable of delivering a rich multi-media experience to end users. The powerful processor enables users to download media quickly and enjoy DVD-quality video efficiently delivered at full standard-definition resolution, with several video format options. The Alchemy Au1200 processor gives system designers an easy-to-use, simple solution to create full-featured portable solutions at greatly reduced design cycle times. RMI's System-on-a-Chip (SoC) architecture integrates most peripheral components resulting in a significant reduction to the total bill of materials.
