Logic Innovations' Transport Stream Multiplexer, or TSM, is a companion product to the IPE. It is designed to allow broadcasters to insert data into the unused bandwidth of a DTV transmission. It enables broadcasters to capitalize on 100 percent of their available bandwidth, with no wasted packets, by transmitting IP data along with audio and video in their broadcast stream. The TSM's core functions include opportunistic data insertion and redundancy switching.
Logic Innovations' IP Encapsulator and Transport Stream Multiplexer
The TSM is designed to work with the IPE. It relies on the IPE's efficient bandwidth usage and provisions for including a redundant unit. With its support for SMPTE 325M Flow Control, data is sent to the TSM buffer to fill the available bandwidth in the DTV transport stream.
