  • Both code (C/A & P) and P-codeless (cross-correlation) operation.
  • Parallel, dual-frequency code and cross-correlation tracking, and data output of up to eight satellites simultaneously.
  • System automatically acquires and tracks satellites upon power up without initialization, even in orbit.
  • Selectable output intervals from 50 per second for carrier phase and amplitude (GPS/MET) to 3,600 sec.
  • Designed to minimize cycle slips.
  • Digital processing minimizes interchannel biases and enhances thermal stability.
  • Interface via RS-422 port (RS-232 optional).
  • Data transfer with either ASCII or binary format. Supports XMODEM or serial data transfer.
  • Receiver firmware can be uploaded by telemetry through the serial interface.
  • Watchdog timer and overcurrent sensor to recover from single event upsets and latchups.

Allen Osborne Associates, Inc. (AOA) specializes in the design, analysis, development, and production of commercial and military Global Positioning System equipment (GPS) for survey, geodesy and time and frequency synchronization. Due to their high performance, reliability and quality, more than 3,000 AOA GPS receivers can be found in use worldwide.

The TurboStar satellite-borne GPS receiver provides maximum-accuracy measurements in a rugged package designed to handle the rigors of low earth orbit satellites. This very versatile GPS receiver, with simultaneous and independent digital tracking of up to eight satellites, delivers an unprecedented combination of accuracy and performance. Unique, robust and flexible tracking loops allow high dynamics, virtually eliminate cycle slips, and produce very accurate pseudorange and carrier phase measurements from the L1 C/A code and P code and from the L2 P Code. The dual-frequency P-codeless (cross-correlation) mode automatically produces differential (L1-L2) group delay and phase in the presence of Y code. A special mode allows tracking and dual-frequency carrier phase and amplitude at a rate of 50 Hz from selected satellites to derive atmospheric temperature and water content (GPS/MET).

The TurboStar is one of the TurboRogue family of GPS receivers. This receiver architecture has been shown to deliver the lowest noise measurements with the fewest cycle slips of any P-code GPS receiver.
