Details

DVEXCEL is Pinnacle's new top-of-the-line frame-based Digital Video Effects (DVE) system. DVEXCEL's image quality is unsurpassed, thanks to its unique 4:4:4:4 architecture and 16-bit image processing. DVEXCEL expands on the award-winning DVEXtreme® platform with support for up to four channels, each with video, key and three DVE engines, and Pinnacle Systems' most advanced image processing technology to-date. This multi-channel, frame-based DVE delivers the tremendous creative flexibility needed by facilities to distinguish themselves in the highly competitive live programming and postproduction markets.

"In the never-ending race to build and retain audiences, a powerful DVE is what gives producers their creative edge," said Bob Wilson, president, Broadcast Solutions Division at Pinnacle Systems. "DVEXCEL delivers what they have been waiting for - the entire Pinnacle Systems palette of digital effects and an entirely new image processing engine that is second to none. This opens the door to creativity, enabling them to produce unique, stunning looks in even the most pressure-filled live environment."

Significant advances in filtering and interpolation technology give DVEXCEL the highest quality video images Pinnacle Systems has ever offered. Sixteen-bit, 4:4:4:4 frame-based internal processing, coupled with a 16x8 interpolator with motion detection ensures sharp, clear pictures. A 256x128 True Deep Defocus Filter enhances the DVEXCEL's creative toolset with remarkably soft looks for added realism. There are three separate deep defocus engines per channel giving independent defocus control to video, key and drop shadows. This means that a fully loaded system has a total of twelve independent defocus engines!
