The Pure Digital Fiberlink RS-232 Micro Transceiver is a miniature high performance "optical modem" that will allow RS-232 type data to be transmitted, reliably over distances of more than 2 miles via standard multimode fiber optic cable. The unit is ideal for extending the normal transmission range of most RS-232 compatible equipment and accessories and may be user-configured to either the DCE or DTE mode as desired. The 5002 will operate with all data rates (including DC) up to 200 Kbps without adjustment and can be used to implement a point-to-point or drop-and-repeat system.
The 5002 is designed for long, trouble-free operation in most indoor or outdoor protected environments and may be powered from external 12 volt DC power or from a small wall-type plug-in adapter (provided).
