Thunder LT, Thunder XL and Thunder SAN are the next generation Thunder family of clip and still server solutions from Pinnacle. The new 4:2:2:4 two-channel Thunder LT server combines the capabilities of a still store, clip store, mixer and DVE into one compact and affordable package. Thunder XL is the right solution for broadcasters that need more channels and storage options. Thunder SAN introduces the power of shared storage to the Thunder XL family and provides customers with greater scalability for deploying server solutions throughout their production environment.

Multi Channel Flexibility
The Thunder LT server offers two bi-directional channels of MPEG-2 and/or DV video storage, each with its own key channel, and 120GB of built-in mirrored storage for up to 20 hours of reliable disk storage. The Thunder XL server offers up to four bi-directional channels of MPEG-2 and/or DV video storage, each with its own key channel, support for mission-critical RAID5 disk storage and additional scalability via Thunder SAN.

Asset Management
Both Thunder LT and Thunder XL provide production environments with proxy based remote content browsing and management, importing and exporting for industry standard file formats and the ability to play clips & stills live to air. A built-in asset management database and networked file system provides everything needed to track content and get it on-air. Browsing, transition effects, a down-stream keyer and a robust sequence engine are all integrated.
