AgileVision was founded in 1999 by Sarnoff Corporation & Mercury Computer Systems to
serve the emerging digital – television market.
AgileVision's AGV-1000 offers immediate on-air DTV implementation with seamless splicing
between two incoming ATSC (Advanced
Technology Standards Committee) standard 19.39 compressed DTV streams and locally stored
commercial/interstitial material. while
providing for the insertion of: Datacasting services data, PSIP (on-screen program
guide) data, EAS (emergency alert system) data,
local station branding (logos or station ID's) data, into the output DTV transmission
stream - ALL in the compressed domain.
One single, multifunctional, high performance, ATSC compliant unit replaces racks of
discrete devices. Built on a extremely powerful, massively parallel
and fault tolerant Mercury Computer platform, the AGV-1000 is a software based system
that is scalable and expandable.
With outstanding picture quality originating in either Standard Definition or High
Definition, the AGV 1000 challenges the notion that 45
Mbps is necessary for emission & thus represents a complete rethinking of the DTV
transmission chain and its associated equipment
requirements.
