About Us
The company's mission is to leverage digital technology for the sights and sounds of the world. To that end, Antex has built a solid reputation for providing sophisticated audio solutions that are recognized throughout the industry for their stability and functionality. The company's technology is endorsed by such industry leaders as Intergraph, Sun Microsystems, DMX and Microsoft.
History
The company was formed in 1983 after a leveraged buy-out of Guardian California by then president, James Antrim. At the time, Guardian developed solid-state relays, timers and protective sensors for the industrial and aerospace markets. After changing its name to Antex and relocating to Gardena, Calif., Antrim focused the company's design, engineering and manufacturing efforts on new digital technologies. This vision has resulted in some of the first-generation digital audio products for PCs and next-generation control products.
In 1986, Antex successfully released digital audio boards which were among the world's first to achieve CD-quality sound for personal computers. Always building on its earlier innovations, Antex continued to design and market a steady stream of high-end digital audio solutions throughout the following decade.
The company is particularly known for its ability to deliver customized technical solutions that meet individual needs, and is consistently called on to do so by a loyal OEM customer base that includes Muzak, NCR, Lockheed, Allied Signal, Bloomberg Financial, Tektronix and DMX Music.
