Schneider Optics, Inc. is a subsidiary of Schneider-Kreuznach, the German manufacturer of precision optics and filters for professional photography, cinematography, cinema projection, television and industrial applications.

Joseph Schneider founded Schneider Optik in 1913 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, creating a company that would soon grow into a world leader in high-performance lenses.

In 1947, Berlin's Walter Biermann and Johannes Weber created B+W Filters (Biermann and Weber Filters), which quickly became world-renowned for high-quality optical filters.

The two companies merged in 1985.

Today, Schneider offers lenses and filters for a wide variety of applications.
