A. F. Associates Launches Customized Advanced Broadcast Products at NAB 2000
MULTICHANNEL DTMF LOGGER (MDL-1A) - The MDL-1A enables convenient and effective monitoring and logging of the DTMF tones and contact closures employed in multiple channel automation systems. Up to 40 channels and 40 GPI inputs can be monitored continuously and all events are reliably logged even with simultaneous events on different channels. The MDL-1A also aids in system setup and testing with two internal audio routers and one internal mixer for audible indications of DTMF tones. The units can be stacked for additional channels.
Running on a PC linked to one or more MDL-1A's, Windows 95/98 compatible software displays DTMF and GPI activity on screen while logging event files to the hard drive. The easy-to-use software allows an efficient means of automatically producing and distributing reports of DTMF code reception and contact closure activity.
2X2 VIDEO/AUDIO CHANGEOVER SWITCH (COS-1A) - Used in conjunction with redundant incoming feeds (ie: satellite, fiber and microwave), the COS-1A facilitates the switch over from a malfunctioning feed to an operational feed. The COS-1A features several operational cards including a video detection card and an internal dual 4x4 audio crosspoint board for reassignment of audio channels. The unit could also be used to switch between diverse outgoing paths.
Each COS-1A includes a coax control network interface and address switches allowing up to 256 changeover units to be connected to one or more monitoring/control panels. Such a configuration would allow remote switch position indication and remote manual switching. If the unit is configured with the video detection module it could switch automatically.
The COS-1A was designed for reliable broadcast operation and easy maintenance. Redundant power supplies are employed with front panel bi-color status LEDs. All switching is accomplished with high reliability latching relays which maintain their contact position in the event of total power loss. Power supplies and the control card may thus be swapped out without disturbing the signal paths. Long term reliability is further improved with low power consumption resulting in lower operating temperatures.
REMOTE GPI PANEL WITH COMMUNICATIONS OPTION (RGP-2A) - AFA has developed an innovative "Remote GPI Panel" that provides a control interface for up to 8 pieces of equipment and offers a communications option between GPI panels. The switches can be programmed in the following manner; FOLLOW, PULSE, ALT. ON/OFF, and 2-SEC DELAY. Capable of being setup in the field via a setup menu using the front keys and displays, the RGP-2A is replete with a multitude of resourceful features that position it as a valuable resource.
The RGP-2A features include an 8 character red LED dot matrix for each key adjustable to 7 levels of brightness. Output features include individual key control of its respective GPI output with many output functions capable of being individually programmed. Tally/Input GPI features include the ability of the key LEDs to function as tallies controlled by the channels respective GPI inputs. The LED operation of each channel can be individually programmed as can the GPI input polarity.
The RGP-2A also has the capability to remotely control another RGP-2A via a RS-422 serial port with tally feedback to the master. The unit is designed for broadcast operations with redundant power supplies that have front panel status indicators.
DO-ABLE - A pre-packaged "PROJECTWEB" and "e-time" software Internet application specifically designed for project based work. Major elements include an Intranet for internal teams; an Extranet for communication with clients, vendors and partners; an electronic time sheet; and time management and budget tracking applications.
