Allbritton Communications Selects Harris Corporation's Broadcast Sales, Traffic & Research Solutions
Cincinnati, OH - Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company, has signed an agreement to provide its broadcast OSi Sales, Traffic and Research solutions suite to Allbritton Communications Company.
Under the agreement, Harris will provide Allbritton with a comprehensive traffic-sales solution for its entire broadcast and cable television operation. The traffic-sales solution includes both OSi-Traffic and OSi-AdConnections to integrate Allbritton's seven network-affiliated stations and cable news channel located in Washington, DC; Harrisburg, Pa., Birmingham, Ala., Little Rock, Ark.,Tulsa, Okla., Roanoke-Lynchburg Va., and Charleston, SC.
With the Harris solution, Allbritton now has a comprehensive view of its day-to-day operations across the entire station group. The OSi-Traffic and OSi-AdConnections single database model and industry-leading centralization features provide Allbritton consolidated control over their sales operations and inventory utilization.
This capability, along with seamless traffic-sales integration, was the main reason Allbritton selected OSi. "Efficiently controlling workflow for our stations from a single solution distinguished OSi," said Steve Gibson, Allbritton's Chief Financial Officer.
The robust, end-to-end OSi solution provides Allbritton with traffic capabilities such as centralized reporting and streamlined information gathering processes at both station and corporate levels. Corporate management can now view consistent information across all broadcast properties with a single consolidated report. The OSi-Traffic single database model allows for effective and efficient sharing of key information across multiple business units and departments. This model is different than competitive solutions and eliminates the need to gather redundant information from disparate databases. Allbritton can now quickly access key information to make decisions in a timely manner.
Allbritton also benefits from the seamless integration between OSi-Traffic and OSi-AdConnections. This functionality provides Allbritton with greater forecasting and research capabilities, allows for unique competitive analysis, and enables enhanced sales opportunities from the direct linking of traffic and sales databases.
"Harris provides our OSi-Traffic and OSi-AdConnections clients a seamless solution at every step of the broadcast path. We help clients get what they need, when they need it and in a way that best fits and enhances their operations," said Tim Thorsteinson, president of the Harris Broadcast Communications Division.
