Alticast will launch Catalyst-MHP, the world's first end-to-end solution for testing DVB-MHP-based digital interactive broadcasting, in the Asia-Pacific market at Broadcast Asia (BCA) 2001. Supporting Alticast and the DVB-MHP (Digital Video Broadcasting-Multimedia Home Platform) broadcasting standard are Harris Corporation (co-developers of Catalyst-MHP), Media Corporation of Singapore (MediaCorp) and the DVB Project (The Digital Video Broadcasting Project). Alticast, a leading provider of DVB-MHP solutions, held the first public demonstration of Catalyst-MHP last April in Las Vegas at NAB 2001. Alticast will again demonstrate its complete solutions at its booth in BCA 2001 (Singapore Expo, Booth 2F2-6) from June 19 through June 22, 2001.

Harris Corporation has recently signed a contract with Alticast to co-develop and market Catalyst-MHP as a scaled version of Alticast's end-to-end solution. For operators interested in testing DVB-MHP today, Catalyst-MHP includes Alticast's authoring tool, head-end components, and set-top box middleware, as well as DVB-MHP compliant set-top boxes. Harris' contributions to the Catalyst system include the Harris FlexiCoder and system integration services. The Catalyst-MHP system will also be exhibited at BCA 2001 by Harris Corporation (Singapore Expo, Booth # 1G1-01).

MediaCorp, a media conglomerate in Singapore, is also eager to begin testing MHP in the near future, and has been working with Alticast to find the quickest MHP solution for Singapore. Alticast will demonstrate its Catalyst–MHP system at MediaCorp Group's booth (Singapore Expo, Booth # 2H1-01), along with co-developed applications highlighting MediaCorp television programs Sports City and Sports Tonight. Holotype, an Australian multimedia company and partner of Alticast, specializing in interactive television applications, will also demonstrate its co-developed applications with MediaCorp during BCA 2001. To help fuel the growing demand for Open Standard digital broadcasting solutions, the DVB Project will host Alticast to demonstrate Catalyst-MHP alongside other DVB supporters including Pioneer, Phillips and Panasonic.

Alticast is in the pioneering field of datacasting and interactive digital TV software applications.
