AmiNET130 Completes MPEGIF Logo Qualification Program For MPEG-4 AVC/H.264

Cambridge, U.K. and Chicago, IL - Amino, the world leading IPTV platform supplier, recently announced that its AmiNET130 Set-Top Box (STB) is the first HD MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 IPTV STB to meet the Premium Conformance Tier of the MPEGIF Logo Qualification Program offered by the MPEG Industry Forum (MPEGIF).

MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 is a part of the MPEG-4 standard (MPEG-4 Part 10) and enables the AmiNET130 to deliver video compression offering high quality at low-bit rates. This effective compression technology offers excellent results across a broad range of bandwidths including the transport of High Definition (HD) streams for entertainment services and TV broadcasting.

"We are welcoming Amino as a new member of MPEGIF and are delighted that the HD MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 capable AmiNET130 IPTV STB has successfully participated in our MPEGIF Logo Qualification Program," said Sebastian Moeritz, President of the MPEGIF.

"It is a pleasure to join MPEGIF, an international non-for-profit organization championing the adoption of MPEG standards," said Dominique Le Foll, Vice President of Engineering for Amino.

The AmiNET130 uses the latest innovations in video compression technology to provide the optimum in HD quality using compressed video data. This means users with low bandwidth speed available at their homes can still benefit from a HD video experience. MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 gives as high quality as MPEG-2 but with up to a half the data rate by using the best compression technology available.

The AmiNET130 is an advanced STB enabling service providers to deliver end-to-end digital High Definition TV as multicast, on-demand video and multi-room IPTV services. The AmiNET130 is the world's first IP STB capable of displaying HD graphics for HD gaming.
