Base Station for Philips Cameras

Compact and lightweight in design, indeed the smallest base station available, the incorporation of state-of-the-art technology in the LDK 4500SL provides a modular concept prepared for easy expansion. Modules are designed and indeed intended for quick insertion or removal, enabling the configuration of the base station to be changed to suit any application. This versatile base station provides the perfect interface for video and audio between triax cameras and studio systems and also handles the monitoring, intercom, external video, teleprompting, auxiliary video (reverse teleprompting) and control signals that form an integral part of any complex production.
When an Operational Control Panel is connected to the LDK 4500SL Camera Base Station a menu is automatically added which when accessed contains all operational settings. In addition to the operational menu, there are two further menus (Installation and Service), which can be activated only from the base station itself. These menus that represent the less frequently changed and critical settings are thus afforded the required additional security so protecting them from accidental change.
The LDK 4500SL's low power consumption and efficient internal cooling system require no valuable rack space between the units, a most valuable attribute in space conscious outside broadcast vans. Long-distance triax transmission is assured by advanced wide-band transmission technology incorporated within the base station, for even longer distances the unit is prepared for a fiber-optic transmission system so minimising upgrade costs when such facilities are required.
The LDK 4500SL is backwards compatible with existing Philips LDK Series 2/3-inch CCD cameras from the LDK 10P to the recently introduced LDK 200 Series - a significant benefit to rental, broadcasters and facility companies employing a wide rage of cameras by offering inter-operability of camera heads and base stations.
