Canopus delivers portable DV editing workstation for under $3,000

DVStation is a high performance ready-to-edit system including a lightweight 15" LCD flat panel, a high performance PC and plenty of video storage.
DVStation's 550 MHz Pentium III CPU, 128 MB RAM, 15-inch integrated LCD display and 30 GB of storage allow users to simply plug in their DV or Digital8 camera and begin editing. DVStation's small size (7" deep x 15" tall x 15" wide), low-weight of less than 20 pounds, and convenient handle for one-handed carrying, make it portable editing solution.
At the heart of the DVStation is Canopus' DVRaptor capture board that offers features such as full-motion, full-screen preview (through an S-video or composite connection to the DV camcorder) and seamless batch capture of long video segments (greater than 20 minutes). The company also announced a streaming module (which will be available free to users later this summer) it says will turn DVStation into a mobile Internet streaming workstation.
DVStation is available now from Canopus for a suggested retail price of $2,999.
