Cleaner XL

Cleaner XL is an accelerated media processing system designed to significantly speed up the process of creating high quality, dynamic on-demand streaming media content. Built on the award-winning Cleaner 5 streaming media processing solution, Cleaner XL provides a powerful solution for high volume, deadline intensive streaming media production environments that require the ability to very quickly create high quality streaming media content in multiple streaming formats and at multiple data rates.

Cleaner XL is powered by Media 100's new parallel stream processing engine, Media 100 CrystalICE - a sophisticated new hardware- and software-based acceleration engine, also announced today. Leveraging the high speed processing power of CrystalICE, Cleaner XL is designed to accelerate stream processing operations up to five times faster than Cleaner 5. The new CrystalICE acceleration engine draws on the power of four 30BOP (billion-operations-per-second) programmable MAP-CA Broadband Signal Processors from Equator Technologies, as well as leveraging sophisticated streaming algorithms developed by Media 100, to decode and filter streaming media content at unprecedented benchmarked speeds. This innovation leaves the host system CPU free to complete other encoding tasks more efficiently while greatly increasing overall system performance.

Cleaner XL's advanced filtering algorithms are designed to improve the quality of streaming media while also improving system throughput and productivity. Cleaner XL accelerates commonly used filters, such as scaling, cropping, deinterlacing, color adjustment and intelecine, significantly reducing time intensive streaming processes. The acceleration of these key processes can eliminate hours of processing time common in the streaming media production process, providing a tremendous value-add for time-sensitive and deadline intensive streaming media projects.

Like Cleaner 5, Cleaner XL also supports all major streaming formats, including RealSystem, Windows Media, QuickTime, MP3, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2. Additionally, Cleaner XL includes EventStream technology to enable users to author interactive events directly into streaming media content, including chapter lists, hot spots and URL flips, creating a more valuable, dynamic online experience for viewers

Cleaner XL also takes advantage of the same user interface as Cleaner 5 to ensure a simple streaming media processing experience.
