Commotion 4.0
"The engineering developments accomplished in Commotion 4.0 are based on user feedback," said Sean Safreed, senior product manager for the Professional .Media Division at Pinnacle Systems, Inc. "We've made workflow easier for our customers and are meeting their number one demand — a faster, more affordable solution for integrated paint and multi-layering with video output on the desktop."
"Commotion was a real lifesaver for all the work we did on the film U-571, especially for projects involving complex rotoscoping and motion tracking," said Bill Taylor, A.S.C., president of Illusion Arts. "We were tasked with replacing a small Italian Mine Sweeper with matte paintings of a German Destroyer. In addition to tracking the paintings, nearly every profile shot of the ship involved rotoscoping of intricate foreground detail, actors, and feathery, semi-transparent water explosions. It's a tribute to both our artist, Kelvin McIlwain, and to Commotion that these shots are so seamless and convincing."
