Compact Video Player
Features and Benefits
COMPACT BODY DESIGN
The J-series platform has an extremely compact body design. These players fit easily on a desktop and can be used as a personal viewer or logging source, greatly increasing an editor¡¦s efficiency.
MULTI-FORMAT PLAYBACK CAPABILITY
The J-3 can playback all of Sony¡¦s Betacam family formats. This extensive playback capability offers great operational flexibility, maximizing use of your current Betacam-based tape library. Just insert the tape to be viewed, and the player automatically detects the correct format to be played.
BOTH LARGE AND SMALL SIZE CASSETTES CAN BE LOADED
The J-3 can load large or small videocassettes through its front-loading gate. This feature addresses broadcast journalists¡¦ and editors¡¦ fundamental needs for both a small footprint and flexible playback capability.
INTERFACE TO NLE/SERVERS BY SIMPLE REMOTE CONTROL VIA RS-422A
The J-3 has the industry standard RS-422A 9-pin remote control interface. Using this interface, the J-3 is easily integrated into a server system or a non-linear editing environment to which it can be used as a source feeder in simple remote operation. In addition, with this interface the J-3 can be used in a tape logging application when used with Sony¡¦s JZ-1 software.
525/625 VERSATILITY
The J-3 can easily be switched from 525/60 to 625/50 playback mode. This enables these VTRs to work in international environments.
ANALOG COMPONENT OUTPUT OR SDI OUTPUT
With the BKJ-1 (for J3/901) Analog Component Output Board or BKJ-2 (for J3/902) SDI Output Board, the J-3 can have either analog component or SDI outputs as well as analog composite and S-video interfaces, as standard. These boards enable the J-3 to be easily integrated into current desktop environments. The purchaser has the choice of the J-3 being supplied with either the Analog Component (J3/901) or SDI (J3/902) board at time of ordering.
