Cox Arizona Expands Statewide High Definition Channel Lineup

Phoenix, AZ - Cox Communications is adding seven new HDTV channels to its lineup in Arizona beginning March 18. By the end of this year, Cox plans to add more HDTV channels to the Arizona lineup.

The new high definition channels in the Valley include:

  • TBS HD - channel 716
  • Science Channel HD - channel 720
  • Discovery HD - channel 723
  • Golf Channel HD/Versus HD - channel 744 (for subscribers to the Sports & Information tier)
  • Food Network HD - channel 746
  • Animal Planet HD - channel 757
  • History Channel HD - channel 762

"Our HDTV customers can continue to count on Cox Arizona to provide the best and most popular high definition programming," says Tammy Heitkamp, a marketing director for Cox Arizona.

The new high definition channels in Southern Arizona include:

  • TBS HD - channel 730
  • Science Channel HD - channel 720
  • Discovery HD - channel 723
  • Golf Channel HD/Versus HD - channel 744
  • Food Network HD - channel 738
  • Animal Planet HD - channel 764
  • History Channel HD - channel 736

In the past few months, Cox has added or enhanced several of its products and services to Arizona customers. This includes the launch of the free Cox Security Suite powered by McAfee -- a Web based security program for high- speed Internet customers. Cox Arizona launched On DEMAND service to Scottsdale customers in January, and will continue rolling it out throughout the Valley and state during the next several months. And now, with the expansion of our HDTV lineup, by the end of this year Cox Arizona will have approximately 80 channels offered in high definition.
