The Windows version of EditDV, an editing system that brings professional-level, 100 percent digital non-linear video editing to the desktop, is designed for new video editors as well as graphics and video professionals ready to move to the DV format. The system integrates editing, compositing, animation and special effects functions into a single desktop editing environment. Its Accelerated Video Architecture (AVA) features AVA III, a high-speed software codec specifically optimized for Pentium III.
Using the IEEE 1394 interface and QuickTime, the application provides the latest in DV technology without the high price tags that have traditionally hampered video professionals from diving into all-digital editing, according to the company. EditDV for Windows 95/98/NT comes with a 30-day time-out version of SmartSound, an industry-leading audio software product from Sonic Desktop Software.
