In the wake of the terrible tragedy that unfolded in New York on September 11th, Dielectric Communications, a unit of SPX Corporation, and it's employees have mobilized to assist in restoring communication to millions of New Yorkers. Within hours of the disaster all nine of the TV stations previously broadcasting from atop the World Trade Center contacted Dielectric to see if new antenna systems could be built quickly to replace the equipment lost when the north tower collapsed. By the evening of September 11th, the first five of the antennas were en route to New York.

According to Lewis M. Kling, President of Dielectric, "Efforts will continue around the clock until we have met the needs of both our customers and the people of New York City. All of us have been touched by this tragedy and our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims".
