The Broadcaster BX-44 Adapter, a digital audio adapter, offers new features to broadcast automation, video post production and other multimedia environments. The BX-44 is a companion model to the BX-12 and features multi-track analog and digital inputs and outputs, MPEG Layer I/II decoding and SMPTE video synchronization. The adapter has 20-bit A/D and D/A converters, four analog channels for both record and playback with MPEG Layer I/II compression, and feature-rich sound cards, all of which transform an off-the-shelf Windows PC into a powerful multimedia engine, according to the company. In addition to AES/EBU-S/PDIF stereo digital record/play capability, the adapter offers full video synchronization via an on-board hardware genlock feature and SMPTE read/write generator.

The device is designed for both digital broadcasting systems engaged in radio, satellite and other broadcast automation applications, and for multimedia automation systems in the high technology entertainment industry.
