dpsWhiplash2™
dpsWhiplash2 integrates the proven technology of the acclaimed dpsReality™dual-stream digital disk recorder, sophisticated custom application software and a ruggedized system unit to form the ideal slow-motion instant replay system. For a fraction of the cost of other dual-channel, disk-based slow-motion systems or dynamic tracking VTRs, dpsWhiplash2 provides instantly accessible high-quality slow-motion replays at compression ratios as low as 1.3:1, while using the integrated DPS V3DX™DVE hardware to provide spatial interpolation for smooth slow motion. dpsWhiplash2's disk-based recording allows an unlimited number of in-points to be marked during recording and instantly recalled at the touch of a button, with no waiting for rewinding or seeking. Using the supplied jog/shuttle control panel, marked clips can be played back in slow-motion at operator-specified speeds. dpsWhiplash2 also serves as an audio/video clip store, enabling the quick assembly of highlight reels and the playback of pre-recorded clips such as bumpers, promos and commercials.
