DTV Transmitter Test System
The system is incorporated into the company's CD 1A 8-VSB DTV exciters, which are also equipped with Real-Time Adaptive Correction (RTAC) system.
Working with RTAC, which creates a feedback loop that continuously samples and analyzes the transmitted television signal and then automatically makes corrections to ensure optimal performance, the system streams data packets generated by RTAC from the exciters to a Win 95/98 NT personal computer. The client software processes streamed data and presents time, frequency, and modulation domain analysis on a directly connected PC at the transmitter site. Data can also be accessed remotely via modem.
The system provides measurements for spectrum, out of channel mask, eye diagram, constellation, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and error vector magnitude (EVM), pilot level, non-linear analysis, and RTAC metrics. Information is displayed both graphically and numerically, and can be logged for trend analysis and troubleshooting purposes. Also, for monitoring system performance, the product provides user defined event alarms, and an automated data capture capability. The system also provides control and status monitoring of RTAC and the CD 1A exciter.
