Faroudja Laboratories, Inc. designs and develops products that dramatically improve video image quality, producing cinema quality images on a variety of displays. The Company is recognized as a world leader in innovative high performance video processing technologies for markets requiring superior image quality solutions. These markets currently include HDTV broadcast and large screen home theater, and are starting to expand into markets being created by new video display devices such as digital televisions and flat panel displays, and markets resulting from new applications such as PC/TV convergence.

Faroudja has been advancing the art and science of video processing for more than 25 years. Its pioneering efforts are evidenced its patent portfolio, continuously growing and currently more than 60 patents, licenses to major electronics companies and awards, including an Emmy award for Advancing Encoding Techniques and a Lifetime Achievement Emmy for Yves Faroudja.

Faroudja products are based on advanced ASIC technologies. These chips are designed and developed internally by Faroudja's team of VLSI engineers. These engineering capabilities are increasingly focused on ASICs for new video display markets such as digital television and PC/TV convergence.

Digital Broadcast - Faroudja offers the Digital Format TranslatorTM series of upconverter products that provides a flexible range of modular solutions to the broadcast, cable and satellite markets implementing Standard and High Definition Television services. Using much of their existing studio infrastructure and libraries, key facilities worldwide have deployed the DFT as an integral part of their DTV rollout plans.

Large Screen Television Display - The Company is recognized as the world leader in providing the finest picture quality for home entertainment. Faroudja's video enhancement equipment provides an unrivalled home theater experience.

Integrated Circuits for New Video Displays - Faroudja's image enhancement Chip Set and Board solutions are available for consumer and commercial market applications. These applications include many potential display formats in the emerging HDTV / Digital Television market and the multimedia PC market. A number of projector and display companies have now begun to deploy Faroudja video processing chips in high end products. Technology is also available through select Licensing arrangements.
