Through the development of technology, the term "Graphics" has come to encompass the entire world of special effects that enhance any program
With non-linear systems moving toward a complete integration of high-end graphics and editing capabilities, the distinction between "artist" and "editor" is disappearing in today's postproduction universe. Graphic-intense systems like Discreet Logic's Smoke, or Quantel's Henry, allow artists to integrate their work throughout your program. "Graphics", when you're at a Henninger facility, is no longer limited to logos, maps and 2d animations (although, those elements are still important!). Through the development of technology, the term "Graphics" has come to encompass the entire world of special effects that enhance any program.

TECHNOLOGY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Animated menus add value to DVD programming (see Donald O'Connell's article, Filling In the Back of the Box).
  • Mac-based applications allow producers affordable access to a great variety of special effects.
  • Non-linear editing systems allow producers to create rich, textural 2d and true-3d effects during the editing process.
