IMAKE Launches OpenVision Software Suite For Video On Demand And IPTV
Next Generation of Proven e.merge Software Gives Cable Operators, Telecommunications Companies and Content Providers a New Level of Content Control and Validation
Bethesda, MD IMAKE, the major provider of solutions and services that enable the seamless delivery and management of interactive and On Demand broadband services, announced OpenVision(TM), the next generation of IMAKE's successful scalable, open standards-based software suite that supports Video On Demand (VOD) and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) content. Designed to replace IMAKE's established and successful e.merge software suite, which is currently in version 3.0, OpenVision consists of separate software solutions that are designed to give cable television providers, telecommunications companies, and content providers an end-to-end solution that ensures the seamless delivery, management and billing of VOD and IPTV content.
IMAKE's new OpenVision product suite will be demonstrated at booth 5164 at the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) show on April 3-5 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
OpenVision is based on IMAKE's successful software suite called e.merge, which currently supports over 20 million cable subscribers and ingests over 2,500 hours of content per month. OpenVision adds an enhanced level of intelligence to the network to reduce errors, maximize productivity, and enable a new level of control and automation. OpenVision automatically ensures that content and metadata is properly encoded and verifies the adherence to business rules, policies, and procedures. OpenVision's intelligent features and automated workflows manage the entire back-office process and help VOD and IPTV providers to simplify the complexities of VOD service delivery.
IMAKE's Chairman and CEO Mark Schaszberger said, "IMAKE's new OpenVision suite reflects our ongoing commitment to providing top-of-the-line open standards-based solutions that support Video On Demand and interactive content delivery. We first built software for Video On Demand back in 1994, and since then we have used our real-world expertise to launch our new OpenVision suite. OpenVision gives On Demand providers the flexibility to incorporate individual solutions within the software suite or the ability to use the entire software suite to ensure accurate content delivery."
Schaszberger continued, "Companies that turn to OpenVision know that IMAKE software already supports the largest base of cable television subscribers in the United States. We are looking forward to expanding our presence in the U.S. and across the globe in regions that include India, Asia and Europe, where Video On Demand, interactive television and other digital media are poised to experience huge gains in subscribers."
OpenVision's centralized architecture is highly scalable and flexible, meaning that it can be successfully deployed within both centralized and distributed enterprise environments. OpenVision was built to CableLabs® standards, making it compatible with the most commonly used components and software in the industry. OpenVision's open standards-based design helps to maximize the capabilities of existing infrastructure and legacy software systems, while eliminating the need to rely on a single solutions vendor. OpenVision makes it possible for cable, telco and content providers to mix and match best-of-breed third-party products, such as encoders, navigation servers, billing systems, video servers, and network components.
