ORGANIZATION

Cineric is the world's pre-eminent provider of film restoration for feature films. It was the first facility in New York to establish a digital motion picture film service bureau, offering full 4K film scanning, recording, video-to-film, and specialized image processing services. Cineric is also the industry's finest restoration and preservation facility, proudly combining traditional craftsmanship with technical innovation. The company has restored over 300 films, including such popular titles as Stanley Kubrick's "Dr. Strangelove," "The King and I," "Major Dundee," and many more.

SITUATION

Cineric's RAID system worked fine for a while, but as the company's film restoration business started to prosper, the system was unable to support the growth. Maximum capacity was reached and the system required increasingly more maintenance, which was an expensive drain on limited resources. In addition, Cineric experienced intermittent frame corruptions with its RAID system, which had the potential to cause less-than-perfect film restoration results and project delays.
