N/A-end Interactive Cable Network adapter was designed for multimedia services over cable networks. The DRC1700 is a data bridge for interactive services using cable network return path, providing the interface between interactive service providers and end-user terminals. It can handle up to 4,000 Cable Modems or 16,000 set top boxes.
It incorporates a modular, flexible system that allows scalable adaptation in order to support new applications, changing traffic demand and HFC architectures.
The DRC7100 is available in in-band and out-of-band modes. The out-of-band version is designed to provide interactive services via a set top box. The in-band version, designed for PC-Based multimedia applications via Cable modems, provides a downstream channel of up to 40 Mbit/s.
