LDK 23HS camera
The camera was widely used during the World Cup in France that year as a testing ground, and audiences around the world were amazed at the exceptional quality of close-up, slow-motion playback of fast action
When the LDK 23HS camera was introduced in 1998 it created a sensation. The camera was widely used during the World Cup in France that year as a testing ground, and audiences around the world were amazed at the exceptional quality of close-up, slow-motion playback of fast action. The ‘secret' to such perfectly clear playback is in the camera's triple-speed image acquisition, by which the action is scanned at three times the normal 50 or 60 Hz frame rate (150 Hz and 180 Hz respectively), allowing the camera to capture details that other cameras cannot. Moreover, the camera's wideband video processing capability - as used in HDTV - enhances the audience's enjoyment of fast action playback in a way never seen before. Key amongst the incorporated technologies is the employment of Dynamic Pixel Management (DPM™) CCD sensors making the LDK 23HS ideally equipped to serve a wide range of user applications. The camera is generally acknowledged as the industry ‘gold' standard for super slow motion.

Even with this high acclaim it has been possible to develop a successor to the LDK 23HS High-Speed Camera – the LDK 23HS MKII - that incorporates further advanced refinements enabling exact capture of the same minute details, even under artificial lighting conditions. The LDK 23HS MKII camera can be preset for various lighting conditions, extending the versatility to include every application, both indoor and outdoor events. In addition to the wide range of controls featured on the previous model, the new MKII version also has saturation control on all analog and digital outputs, as well as on the digital high-speed link to the disk recorder. With full support of third-party fiber-optic transmission systems, such as the Telecast Cobra system, it is possible to combine triax and fiber to extend the total cable length for exceptionally long distances.

In all other respects, the new LDK 23HS MKII retains all of the highly regarded benefits of its predecessor and targets the same, and more, applications wherever capture of split-second drama and film-like image quality are essential to viewing enjoyment. In addition to regular broadcasting companies, the new camera will greatly appeal to rental facilities who will be able to extend their scope by offering customers the means to capture slow-motion action under most lighting conditions.
