The VPG8000 system provides audio and data embedding into the SMPTE 259M 270Mbps, transporting the resulting signal over fiber optics or coaxial cable. Advanced jitter management techniques permit arbitrarily long systems, and wavelength division multiplexing permits multiple 270Mbps streams on the same fiber. EDH support enables quick diagnosis of system faults.

Features
• 270Mbps jitter elimination, regeneration, and transmission for uncompressed 4:2:2 (Component Serial) digital video transport over coax or fiber
• Combines digital video, AES/EBU digital or stereo analog audio, and multiple RS-422 machine control, T1/E1 data, and other information channels onto a single link through integrated embedding technology
• Multiple laser wavelengths available for operation in the 1310nm or 1550nm range in two-wavelength, loose, or dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) systems with other vendors' equipment on the same fiber
• On-board audio system accepts 32kHz, 44.1kHz, or 48kHz-sampled audio inputs with embedded time code, converting to 48kHz synchronized audio at receiver
• Two 20-bit AES/EBU audio streams or four 20kHz analog audio channels available, two protocol-independent RS-422 machine control signals plus one T1/E1 clear-channel data interface, two 7.5kHz analog channels for intercom or interrupted foldback (IFB) for broadcast
• Usable with SDI uncompressed video signals or SDTI MPEG-2 compressed transport systems
