Model 2804 Fiber Optic Link

The Force, Model 2804 Fiber Optic Link of the CATVLinx family provides a robust system for transmitting up to 110 channels of television modulated signals or 80 analog CATV channels along with 30 digital QAM channels over a single-mode optical fiber. With 860MHz of bandwidth stacked at 6 MHz intervals.

The model 2804 transmitter uses a high-power, low noise 1310 nm distributed feedback (DFB) laser diode. An optical isolator protects the laser from optical reflections in the transmission path. This ensures high carrier-to-noise, consistent performance in all installation scenarios, and excellent linearity.

The model 2804 receiver is packaged in a compact, rugged, metal, stand-alone enclosure or is adaptable for up to five units to an EIA standard 19" rack. The Models 2804RB and 2804RC include a built-in power meter to determine the amount of light reaching the receiver. The Model 2804RC also features an adjustable optical attenuator at the optical input. All models of the receiver can operate at both the 1310 nm and 1550 nm optical windows
