New AKG C 477 Wr Water/Perspiration Resistant Headset Microphone Combines Lightweight Functionality With High-Quality Sound
Following up on the success and popularity of its widely acclaimed CK 77 WR microphone, AKG Acoustics today announced the debut of the C 477 WR, a lightweight-headset version of the microphone that offers the same water- and perspiration-resistant reliability along with the high level of sound quality for which AKG is known. The C 477 WR is designed for applications that require microphone placement close to the mouth of the user in order to maximize gain before feedback.
The AKG C 477 WR uses a flexible band of steel tubing behind the user's neck that can be conformed to achieve the most comfortable fit, effectively creating a custom fit for anyone wearing the microphone. Additionally, the microphone, which comes in two versions for left or right side use, "telescopes" from the rear of the headband, allowing for further customization.
"We discovered there was a significant demand from sound contractors – particularly those working in theatrical environments – for a version of our water-resistant CK 77 WR that could be worn on the head as opposed to being
placed in the user's hairline or clothing," stated Kevin Madden, Market Development Manager for Sound Reinforcement at AKG Acoustics U.S. "The C 477 WR answers that demand in a lightweight, unobtrusive manner while maintaining the same quality sound."
The microphone's dual diaphragm transducer features an extremely high level of noise rejection that effectively cancels out any sounds that may be caused from rubbing against the user's clothing. Through the use of patented AKG technology, the hermetically sealed capsule makes the transducer resistant to water or perspiration. An additional foil drip ring offers further protection from any makeup that may find its way onto the capsule.
AKG C 477 WR is available with stripped and tinned leads or a Switchcraft connector and comes in either black or flesh tones, left and right boomed.
