Hardcore/metal band NOK routinely pushes the limits of on-stage equipment but rests easy knowing its AKG microphones are up to the task.

ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA, January 18, 2001 — In an example of the unparalleled breadth and quality of AKG Acoustics' microphone product offerings to the US MI marketplace, Boston-based hardcore band NOK have selected AKG D112 and AKG C535B live performance microphones for a punishing winter tour circuit in the Northeast.

"Touring up here in winter can be very harsh and it can get a lot harsher if you're sound isn't right," says NOK drummer John Keane. "First and foremost we looked for audio quality that would compliment the performance not compromise it like some of the newer mics on the market. Then it was a question of investing in a mic that would last for five years on the road or one that would have us back in the stores again in February. The AKG mics are a touring bands dream in terms of both performance and durability."

According to Keane, the AKG microphones have also helped maintain a uniform sound from venue to venue. "Anyone who plays a lot of shows in different venues will tell you what a nightmare it can be to get the same sound from night
to night," Keane says. "The AKG microphones relieve much of that guesswork, and that's one less thing to worry about!"

NOK's new album VENT charted in the top 15 in all the Loud Rock trades and the group was a featured artist on Napster last November. The band recently played the 2000 CMJ Music Marathon in New York City and have just completed work on their first video. A three-month Northeast-Midwest tour kicks off in January.
