Satellite Feed Scheduler

The Intelli-Sat Broadcast Recording Manager is a powerful tool designed to automate the scheduling and recording of satellite feeds. The system consists of two modules: The Scheduler and the Recorder.

The Scheduling Module can be run from several client workstations, and allows users to schedule their own satellite records. Scheduling is accomplished via an intuitive Wizard, which walks users through the creation of a record schedule. This module identifies resource conflicts for receivers, satellites, and recording media - both server and tape based.

Bringing the scheduling component to the user's desktop creates a great deal of efficiency in managing satellite feeds. Now the departments responsible for the feeds - programming, promotions, and news - can schedule their feeds independently of master control.

Intelli-Sat can also be integrated with the company's FastBreak Automation. This integration means that data is typed into the system only once, and the information is kept with the record all the way through program playback and traffic reconciliation.

Once a record schedule has been created, the Record Module takes over. This program resides in Master Control and handles the physical control of the dishes, receivers, routers, and recording media. The device control is accomplished through the company's SIDON Architecture, which provides the ability for devices to be pooled for recording and playback.

If any recording does not happen, Intelli-Sat will automatically attempt to schedule the refeed and will move things around in the record list to accommodate this. The Master Control operator always has final say over the record schedule, and can take manual control of the system at any time.
